Is Florida State University preparing to change its logo? For weeks the rumors have run rampant around Tallahassee that FSU is on the verge of a redesign that would involve an update to the school’s famed Chief Osceola emblem.

The current logo, which has been in use since the 1970’s, features the side profile of FSU faculty member Tommy Wright posing as Osceola (a famous Seminole warrior from the early 1800’s) . It is distinctive to say the least, but it could be about to change.

Today Florida State’s official Twitter account released a video, along with the hashtag #IgnitionTradition and the date April 11th — exactly one month from today.

The accompanying video includes the tagline: “Tradition doesn’t mean never changing.”

What does any of this mean? It could be nothing. It could be something totally unrelated. We’ll find out in a month…
