Seminole Pitching Stymies USF, 5-1

The second-ranked Florida State Seminoles baseball team improved to 9-1 on the season tonight, defeating the University of South Florida Bulls 5-1 in Tampa. The Seminoles staked pitcher Peter Miller to a 4-1 lead after two innings, and it was more than enough for the ‘Nole starter, who was the story of the night.

Miller threw five innings, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out a career-high 11. He was backed by another exceptional effort from the Florida State bullpen, which held the Bulls to just three hits over the remaining four frames.

The brief mid-week series concludes tomorrow at 3 pm.
