The National Champion Florida State Seminoles added a pair of commitments at their Junior Day on Saturday, gaining a verbal pledge from outside linebacker Brian Bell of Valdosta, Georgia and guard Cole Minshew of Douglas, GA.
Bell attends Lowndes High, the same school that produced former Seminole Greg Reid and current ‘Nole Tyler Hunter. He attended two FSU games last season and was offered by Florida State on February 5th. Although he held a handful of offers, he’s considered to have chosen FSU over ACC-Atlantic division rival Clemson. Bell is currently ranked as a three-star recruit, but I would be shocked if he didn’t earn a fourth star as evaluations continue. The 6-2, 218 lb. defender has great feat and a terrific motor, along with exceptional skills in pass coverage.
Minshew, at 6-4 and 305 lbs., is an impressive specimen as well. He stays on blocks nicely, and seems to play with a certain mean streak. Also a three-star prospect, he was offered earlier today, after already holding offers from Miami and Mississippi State. An added fourth star would not be surprising here, either.
With these additions, 247Sports has jumped FSU three spots, from seventh to fourth, in their 2015 class rankings.
