According to ESPN’s NCAA Tournament selection expert Joe Lunardi, Florida State would still be dancing come March. But after losing their last two contests, they’re moving themselves toward bubble territory. Last week, Lunardi projected the Seminoles to make the tourney as an 8 seed. In this week’s update, they’re a 9 seed. They’re now projected to play 8 seed Kansas State in St. Louis.
The ACC is still projected to send six teams to the tournament, with FSU and North Carolina being the bottom two (the Tarheels are slotted as a 10 seed right now). But the ‘Noles need to be careful, as three teams ahead of them in the standings — Clemson, Wake Forest, and North Carolina State — are not listed as tournament teams at the moment. A home loss to Clemson tomorrow could slide FSU into that group. And NIT dancing just isn’t the same. It’s more like this:
