Florida State at Miami final score: Seminoles use late surge to defeat Hurricanes 63-53

It wasn’t as dominating as their win over the Maryland Terrapins on Sunday, but Florida State was able to get their 12th win of the season on Wednesday night as they defeated the rival Miami Hurricanes on the road, 63-53.

After a game that saw it’s fair share of lead changes, the Seminoles used a late 13-2 run in the fourth quarter to finish things out after the final media timeout of the game to push their record to 3-1 in ACC play.

Aaron Thomas led the way in this one, scoring-wise, with 12 points and four rebounds off the bench. Ian Miller added in 10 points–including a clutch three-pointer within that 13-2 run–with six rebounds and four assists.

While it wasn’t the same as the win over Maryland on Sunday, Florida State once again shot well from three-point range, hitting 46.7% on 7-of-15 shooting.

Next up, Leonard Hamilton and his squad will look to keep this run going this Saturday at noon when they go on the road once again, this time to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers.
