While a lot of people saw the move coming, no one would believe that five-star wide receiver Ermon Lane would break his commitment to the Florida Gators until it actually happened.
Well, on Friday, he did just that as the Homestead native announced via his twitter account that he was breaking off his commitment to Gainesville, just a month before National Signing Day.
No Hard Feelings But I Just Decommitted From The University Of Florida . Not Because Dalvin Cook. No lie I love gator nation. #OneLove

Now, Florida State Seminoles fans, you know what this means?
While, yes, many expected Lane to pull back on his commitment to Will Muschamp and company, the second side to the theory was that he would not only decommit from Florida, but he will ultimately pledge his allegiance to Tallahassee.
And that’s exactly what everyone assumes will happen, according to 247 Sports.
Lane committed to Florida back in August, however given the Gators’ struggles this season coupled with the firing of offensive coordinator Brent Pease, most saw the writing on the wall that this would happen.
The five-star wideout will take his official visit to Tallahassee on Jan. 31, right before it’s time to sign the name on the dotted line and he can then ready himself to contribute to one of the most explosive offenses in the country.
