For the better part of the past week, a lot of drama surrounded whether or not five-star running back Dalvin Cook would indeed flip his college commitment from the Florida Gators to the Florida State Seminoles.
On Tuesday night, those rumors were put to rest as we found out that they were indeed true, as Cook is no officially committed to play his football in Tallahassee next fall.
During the Under Armour high school practice, Cook announced his decision on ESPNU, although the “Worldwide Leader” goofed up just a bit by not actually showing it live as it happened, however they did make note of it on the screen.
Cook, who graduates high school in January, will be able to enroll at Florida State next week and will add some monster depth to what should be one of the more explosive backfields in the country in 2014. It’s still unknown whether both Devonta Freeman and James Wilder Jr. will be back next season, but Karlos Williams has emerged wonderfully this year after moving over from safety, plus Mario Pender will be back and Ryan Green will be ready to step up.
The annual game with the Gators just got that much more interesting.
