With just two games left in the 2013 regular season, a trip to Pasadena is within reach for this magical Florida State Seminoles team. This week, they’ll continue on that journey as they welcome in the Idaho Vandals into Doak Campbell Stadium.
Last weekend, the ‘Noles finished up a perfect ACC regular season when they dominated the Syracuse Orange, 59-3. Once again, as has been the constant throughout the season, most of the Seminoles’ starters didn’t see much action in the second half after they obliterated ‘Cuse throughout the first 30 minutes en route to a 38-0 halftime lead.
This week will more than likely bring much of the same, as not only are the Vandals visiting from as a member of the Independent classification, they’re one of the worst.
Idaho will come into this game with a 1-9 record and having not won that one game on the road. None of those places that they visited will compare to what they’re going to walk into on Saturday afternoon.
Offensively, the Vandals are only averaging 18.7 points per game, while they’re giving up 45.7 on defense.
With that Pasadena trip well within reach at this point, there no logical reason to believe that the FSU starters will play more than two quarters, at the most. In relief of Jameis Winston last week, Sean Maguire came in and did a very manageable job of leading the offense, including coming out and immediately throwing the first TD pass of his career. He should definitely expect some more work on Saturday, maybe as early as the second quarter.
