Monday evening, the Florida State Seminoles Men’s Basketball team capped off the exhibition season with a 76-47 victory over Flagler College in the Tucker Center.
Once again, as has been the case throughout the exhibition season so far, Okaro White was spectacular yet again. The senior forward finished off his night tonight with 23 points on 8-of-12 from the field and seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Even with the clutch shooting of Ian Miller–who did not play again this evening–you can begin to tell that White is going to be the fuel to this team’s fire as they push through the season.
Flagler did keep things a bit interesting, though, as they had the game at 54-42 at one point, but the ‘Noles were able to finish the game one a 22-5 scoring run and ultimately run away with another victory.
After the game, senior forward Robert Gilchrist–who finished with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting–called this a bit of a wake-up call for the team:
“They hung around for awhile and we shouldn’t have let them,” senior forwardRobert Gilchrist said. “It was a good wakeup call for us; it keeps us grounded. We didn’t play our best but we know what we have to do to improve to start the season.”
Speaking of starting the season, with this being the last exhibition contest, it’s finally time to get things tipped off on the court. Friday night, the journey begins for the Seminoles as they host Jacksonville inside the Tuck at 8pm ET.
