Florida State Remains No. 3 in Both the AP and Coaches Polls

The Florida State Seminoles definitely kept their style points up yesterday in the dominant win over the N.C. State Wolfpack. They were up 35-0 by the end of the first quarter, letting everyone know that the game was virtually out of reach. Jameis Winston only played one series in the second half.

Because of that, it’s no surprise that the ‘Noles firmly retained their number three ranking in both the AP and Coaches polls that were released earlier today.

In a bit of good news, Florida State actually gained some ground on Oregon in the Coaches, which matters most when it comes down to BCS standings. Still though, after the performance the Ducks put up last night against UCLA, it’s expected that the men from Autzen will jump the ‘Noles and steal away that number two BCS standing when they’re released later this evening.

But, the fact that they were at least able to gain a little ground on Oregon is a very good sign. Coaches around the country are obviously starting to take notice that the Seminoles are a legitimate contender to play for the final BCS Championship.
