It was a move that a lot of Florida State faithful saw coming, but didn’t want to fully believe it until they saw it with their own eyes. Well now, it has been seen and the Oregon Ducks have leapfrogged the ‘Noles in the latest edition of the BCS standings released just moments ago.

Oregon took care of a highly-ranked UCLA team on Saturday, while Florida State won handily, but against a mediocre N.C. State team. With the gap in the initial standings being so close between the two, this outcome was a foregone conclusion given the way the BCS system works.

Basically, at this point, Florida State needs to root for either Alabama or Oregon to fall to have a chance at going to Pasadena. Even with a victory this Saturday against a seventh-ranked Miami team, Oregon has a chance to further boost their stock on Nov. 9 against a fifth-ranked Stanford team.
