With Coach Bowden in attendance to take in the festivities, the Florida State Seminoles exacted their revenge on the N.C. State Wolfpack from last year’s loss in Raleigh by a final score of 49-17.
That final score really isn’t indicative of how close this game was not.
The ‘Noles were up 35-0 by the end of the first quarter, and the rout was on. After Terrence Brooks intercepted the returning Brandon Mitchell, Jameis Winston and the offense drove the ball right down the field and capped it off with an 18-yard touchdown run from backup running back Karlos Williams.
After that, the scores were a 39-yard strike to Kelvin Benjamin, and 11-yard run by Devonta Freeman, a 14-yard toss to Nick O’Leary and a 42-yarder to Rashad Greene.
In all, the Florida State offense racked up 566 yards in yet another dominant performance, 224 on the ground and 342 through the air.
Speaking of through the air, Jameis was fantastic yet again, as he finished his day 16-of-26 for 292 yards and three scores. He only played one series in the second half, while Jacob Coker manned the rest of the game.
Other leaders on offense included Greene who caught eight balls for 137 yards, and Freeman who notched 92 yards on 12 carries with two trips to the end zone.
