Saturday afternoon will not only mark another step in the direction toward the national championship for the Florida State Seminoles, it also marks the return of the man that built everything that is currently enjoyed in Tallahassee.
Since leaving the program following the 2009 season, under questionable circumstances to some, beloved former head coach Bobby Bowden has not returned to Doak Campbell Stadium to see the Seminoles play a game.
On Saturday, that all changes.
Coach Bowden will be back inside the stadium and will be honored–as he also was on Friday evening–as the ‘Noles look for revenge against the team that toppled them last season when they were ranked in the Top 5, the N.C. State Wolfpack.
Bobby’s return at this very moment just seems fitting, especially after last week’s victory over Clemson. Not just last week, but throughout this season so far, Florida State has looked the part of some of those traditional Bowden-led squads.
They’re fast, physical and afraid of nothing.
Again, very fitting.
As we sit just literally hours away from seeing Coach Bowden back where he belongs, here’s a video taken a while back in which Bowden speaks about returning and what it means to him.
Just a little something to get everyone amped up just a little bit more than you already are:
