After a scary moment last weekend where starting Florida State safety Tyler Hunter left the game with what was diagnosed as a neck contusion, we learned a little more today about his status for Saturday’s road game against Boston College.
Jimbo Fisher, in speaking to the Miami Herald, expressed what still needs to happen before Tyler will make his return to the field, whether that’s Saturday or not:
“That’s up to the doctors,” coach Jimbo Fisher said. “They’re still evaluating him and we’ll see where he is, we have to wait day-by-day and just see. He’s in the game plan stuff and all that, he may be able to play, he may not.”
Should Tyler not be able to go, Keelin Smith is listed behind him, and there’s also the chance that Jalen Ramsey could also see some time back there as he bounces between safety and corner spots.
So far this year, Hunter has recorded eight total tackles, with one interception on the year.
