There was a lot to be happy about following the Florida State Seminoles’ 62-7 rout over the Nevada Wolfpack on Saturday afternoon. After a bit of a slow start, things seemed to click immediately and the ‘Noles were off and running to their second straight victory of the season.
On Monday, a couple of the team’s members were awarded by the conference for their efforts.
QB Jameis Winston was named the ACC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after putting out, yet again, another stellar performance in the first home game of his career. For those keeping track–albeit it’s been only two games so far–Jameis has collected this award in every collegiate game he’s played in so far.
However, he wasn’t alone in being recognized by the ACC for his efforts.
K Roberto Aguayo also garnered himself some attention by being named ACC Specialist of the Week. The young man had some pretty hefty shoes to fill with the departure of Dustin Hopkins–a Tallahassee favorite–but he seems to be settling in quite nicely.
Aguayo knocked through two field goals and was perfect on all eight of his extra point attempts against Nevada on Saturday.
Congratulations are in order once again to two young stars of this Seminoles football team.
