Clemson Loses WR Charone Peake for the Rest of the Season to ACL Tear

The high powered Clemson Tigers offense has just taken a huge hit, we’ve learned Wednesday. Starting wide receiver Charone Peake will be out for the remainder of the season following tearing an ACL in practice this week, according to Shakin the Southland. Peake has played enough this season to be eligible for a medical redshirt, which is the good news out of all of this for the Tigers and the receiver. He finishes his 2013 season catching eight balls for 84 yards and a touchdown.

For now, it appears that Adam Humphries will step in and star junior Sammy Watkins will be making a switch to the opposite side.

This is a huge blow for a team that seems well on their way to fulfilling those aspirations of contending for not only an ACC Championship, but a national title as well. They began their season with a tremendous victory over the Georgia Bulldogs in Death Valley, and followed that up with a convincing victory this past Saturday against a lesser South Carolina State team.
